Affordable Health Care Problem Solved (updated 2020)

The Solution to Affordable Health Care for All is Simple.

Affordable Health Care starts with doing away with letting the insurance industry dictate the price for treatment and services. Instead, the pricing for minor medical should be determined by what the market will bear.

Health insurance should be optional and only cover major medical treatment and procedures. Minor medical, such as treatment for a sore throat, should be priced according to free-market competition.

A typical doctor's visit takes about 20 minutes. Health care providers should be forced to provide quality services and a comfortable environment for their patients. Moreover, they should be transparent with their pricing, and the price should be determined by the socio-economic status of the area being served.

Amount of time U.S. Primary Care Physicians Spent with Each Patient as of 2018

It is plausible to use the analogy of food when speaking about health care: We all need food to survive, and there are several “quality” levels of food. Suppliers and vendors all strive to produce the best quality at each cost level.

For example, you can shop in many different grocery stores, and you can dine in a variety of restaurants, all for varying levels of cost.

Why not force the doctors and all their cronies to charge what the actual consumer will pay for their care and the environment they provide to the patient instead of what some insurance company's budget will pay?

Current Cost of Health Insurance Under the Affordable Care Act

In 2018, the average cost for an individual's health insurance was $440/month ($5,280/year). A family of two or more paid $1,168/month ($14,016/year).

Who Has A Primary Care Provider?

In July 2018, the Kaiser Family Foundation conducted a national poll of 1,200 randomly selected adults. They found that 26% of those surveyed did not have a primary care provider. Interestingly, there was a difference among age groups: 45% in the 18 to 29-year old group reported having no primary-care provider; in contrast to the 28% within the 30 to 49-year old group; 18% of the 50 to 64-year old group, and 12% percent aged 65 and older without a primary-care provider.

A Free Market Approach

Imagine being free to choose your doctor for everything but major medical without insurance and pay a transparent fee for the visit, just like you do for food. Sometimes you dine at the top of the four seasons, and occasionally you eat in the basement.

Imagine having the ability to receive the attention of a doctor at a typical doctor’s office rather than wondering if your lack of the "Platinum Health Care Policy" will keep you from getting the best treatment.

All of us are free to walk into any medical facility and receive a set price list for medical treatment (similar to the menu at a restaurant), healthcare, and pay for the services using officially recognized payment methods (i.e., cash, credit card).

Those of you wondering about malpractice are one of the reasons the doctors charge so much now. How about this, the care providers will treat their patients with the best procedures and products available? And, let’s move those complaints against providers under Tort Law, and yes, the providers will lose their license to practice and livelihood if found negligent in their treatment or care.

All physicians currently make a wage that sets them within the top 10% of all wage earners within the  United States of America.

How Much Would You Pay?

My plan would be to let physicians choose their own price for services. The smart ones would find out how much patients are willing to spend to have a clinician take a quick look down their throat, into their ears, and up their nose within 17.5-minutes.

If you actually visit a doctor's office twice a year and pay an insurance premium of $440 per month, the office visits alone cost $2640 each.

If you calculate this over 20 years, 18 to 38 years of age, when the person is healthiest, that a person on average will pay $105,600 for current health insurance.

That money, if invested conservatively, would earn just over $46,200 for a total of $151,800

So, even if the same person needed treatments totaling $100,000 over those 20 years, they would still have $51,800 remaining.

The Major Medical Care Issue

The problem of major-medical services must still be addressed. I believe a simple plan might be suitable to address this issue: increase the sales tax on all purchases to subsidize hospital services by 70%. The remaining 30% could be covered either as an out of pocket expense or through a private insurance policy. Which, of course, demands more consideration but to start, I believe we should:
  1. Establish private insurance companies that allow you to receive any type of medical treatment at any medical facility privatized (for profit) or public (non-profit) within the country.
  2. The purchase price of the insurance would be 5% of their income. Income could be the previous year’s annual income or the most recent pay stub. If a person does not have a pay stub, a formula could be used to determine their income: 15% of one's mortgage or rent to cover 1 adult. Each subsequent resident, you require an additional 5% of the housing payment up to a total of 35%. The 35% fee would cover 2 documented residents per bedroom. Therefore a 4 bedroom house policy could cover 8 people at 35% of the mortgage or rental note unless 5% of the total household income is established to be higher.
  3. The unemployed and homeless would be forced to rely on public medical facilities. These facilities would be established as the market dictated or use the emergency room of any medical facility. A portion of the sales tax allocated for these expenses would subsidize payment for this medical treatment.
  4. Illegal immigrants would not be eligible for the care described above. Instead, they would not be provided for in the same methods as those immigrating legally or citizens.
  5. Those on visas, resident alien status, or having otherwise entered the country legally for any length of time are eligible to use the pay for services system or purchase a short term insurance policy for a price that would be determined by individual insurance companies.
Reasonably, priced health care must first start with the reformation of malpractice insurance. Patients that are victims of malpractice should be given the right and encouraged to sue the responsible parties. However, before attempting to file suit against a medical professional, facility, and those working within the facility, there should be some screening that safeguards against frivolous litigation.

All medical professionals would be required to have some method of financially compensating victims of their malpractice. How this is determined could be by a federally mandated minimum of say $1,000,000 not to exceed $30,000,000. This fund could be provided either by an insurance company or held in a private investment account. Health care providers that choose the individual investment account must provide proof of the liquid assets quarterly to maintain licensure and operate legally.

OPINION: US Citizens Must Unite

United We Stand, Diviided We Fall

United States citizens should spend more time coming together and working toward solutions to our issues rather than allowing ourselves to be divided. Dividing ourselves into categories defined by labels such as far-left, centrist, and far-right removes our power as a united group.

More so today than I can remember, dating back to the mid-1970s, a strong faction is genuinely opposed to what the United States of America can produce and accomplish if we came together and presented a unified front.

To Overpower A Large Group, Break It Into Smaller Ones

If the goal is to conquer a large group, it is common knowledge that you should do your best to divide a unified group into smaller factions. Better yet, create a situation where the separate groups recognize and believe in the divisions and work vigorously (even violently against each other) to maintain the divisions.

This situation results in the spokesperson for one of the divisions and their followers publically speaking out against the other divisions. Of course, this is healthy and can strengthen the overall group if the objections are kept internal and not leaked to a larger, opposing, and perhaps equally formidable group.

Such a leak is powerful ammunition for the opposition. Strategic use of such divisive opinions from insiders can lead to a quick fall from power.

They don't want to see us unite:
all they want us to do is keep on fussing and fighting.
They don't want to see us live together:
all they want us to do is keep on killing one another.
— Bob Marley

Smaller Units Are Easy To Obliterate

You would agree that no human can snap a healthy, mature pine tree into pieces with only their bare hands, correct? But what if we could change the scenario and turn that pine tree into toothpicks? Thereby dividing the once strong and unified tree into much smaller units - toothpicks.

Then, it is easy to snap that pine tree into bits of dust with your bare hands and with little effort. One toothpick at a time, the pine trees are destroyed.

Get the idea? Splinter the massive, powerful, wealthy, intelligent, unified force known as the United States of America into smaller groups or even into individuals, and use a team of three to take out each individual until they are no longer threats or eliminated. A three-on-one battle ensures victory for the attacking group.

Change The Rules Of Socially Acceptable Behavior

Can't wait until morals and critical-thinking become a trend again
Another strategy involves changing the rules of social behavior. For example, create a scenario where everyone is right based solely on their feelings. Just because you disagree with a particular set of facts does not immediately make your opinion correct.

Allowing all people to be "right" based on their emotional response to the events creates a paradigm where emotional responses are equal to those using facts and concrete evidence. Moreover, allowing people to use only their fanaticism and emotions to question and disrespect persons in positions of authority will only continue to divide us.

Empowering Ignorant and Emotion-Based Inquiry

When authority is questioned, and this line of questioning is hyped up by presenting a limited scope of information and appeals to emotion rather than reason, a breakdown of trust is imminent. Public acceptance of disrespectful behavior results in disrespect toward all. This includes all you may encounter, from the stranger on the street to your family members.

Accepting this disrespectful behavior, the belief that all people in positions of authority should be publically questioned (even in front of the opponent) and the subsequent breakdown in the chain of command can splinter even the most robust units.

We Must Remain Vigilant And Focused

Those wanting to destroy what we have are all around us, bombarding us with false information and the promise of a better life. Breaking down the unified group into smaller groups. Convincing the smaller groups that the others are responsible for their woes.

This allows our opponents to infiltrate the smaller groups, and unless they are stopped immediately, the larger group is open to an attack from within. This attack might begin with adjusting what is acceptable behavior. Changing the landscape, empowering ignorant questioning, honoring those who engage in disrespectful behavior, and allowing emotion, not rational evidence-based, to define what is "right."

The only chance a country or a large group that functions best when unified has is to remain vigilant and focused on staying unified. Members must shun public defiance of the group's principles by dissenters and keep confederates from becoming members or maintaining membership.

I hope some event unifies us and "forces" us all to identify solely as Americans without the ridiculous classifications (far-left, left, left-center, center, right-center, right, far-right), just AMERICAN and proud.

When unified, we can kick the opposition's butt and protect our way of life.

3 Excellent Reasons to Build the Wall

Three excellent reasons to build a wall along the US/Mexico border.

Controlling the USA/Mexico border and how people can legally enter the U.S. from Mexico has been discussed since the Nixon administration.

Select History of U.S./Mexico Border Legislation

1969 – President Nixon launched Operation Intercept, calling for the inspection of any or all persons crossing the border by plane, car, or foot. The dispatching of thousands of agents worked. For the first time in history, illegal immigration via car was virtually shut down. Mexico's Foreign Affairs Secretary, Antonio Carillo Flores, complained bitterly about this legislation.

1980′s – Intermittently, border officials question people crossing the border by foot and cars. Heading south to enjoy the Mexican beaches with only a driver's license was a luxury that millions of U.S. citizens enjoyed.

1993 –  President Bill Clinton called for constructing a "Border Wall" spanning 13 miles separating San Diego, CA and Tijuana, MX. At $39M, this wall was to reduce the number of arrests for illegal entry from 100,000 to 5,000 per day for those 13 miles. Unlawful entry was found using other paths.

1996 – President Clinton signed The Illegal Immigration Reform and Responsibility Act. This act increased the fines for illegal entry, increased the number of law enforcement agents at the border, and funded more fence construction. Unauthorized access shifted from the previously used crossings to private land. Landowners began to fence their property to keep people from entering the U.S. via their land.

2006 – President Bush signed The Secure Fences Act. This legislation promised 700 miles of a physical barrier and a virtual wall protecting the entire 2000-mile border.

2007 – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requests $12B in additional funding because the rugged terrain at the U.S./Mexico border makes constructing the previously agreed upon barrier, a fence or wall, impossible.

2008 – The U.S. announced a mistake during construction, placing the barricade between 1 and 6 feet inside Mexican territory; therefore, we must relocate this part of the barrier immediately. Attempting to complete the barrier project within the year, Congress approved The Department of Homeland Security's circumvention of 30 years of environmental laws.

2010 – The New York Times reports: since 2006, officials found 51 unauthorized tunnels running under the border walls in Nogales, AZ, and Nogales, Sonora, MX. These tunnels served as a tool for the trafficking of drugs, not illegal entry.

2011 – DHS finishes 649 miles of barrier comprised of 350 miles of fencing to prohibit foot traffic ($6.5 million/mile) and 299 miles of vehicle barriers ($1.7M/mile). However, the $1B spent on a "virtual wall" only protects 53 miles of coverage in Arizona. DHS urged President Obama to cut the funding for the costly "virtual wall."

2017 – President Donald Trump renews his campaign promise to build "a great, great wall" to secure the remaining 2,000 miles of the border. Executive orders increase the number of border patrol agents and Immigration & Customs Enforcement by 5,000 and 10,000, respectively.

Current Status and Effectiveness of The Wall

First and foremost, a barrier, slightly longer than 600 miles, exists between the U.S. and Mexico.

The current wall has been effective. The border wall/fence in San Diego has worked quite well. Before it was in place, in the early '90s, approximately 600K people attempted to enter the country illegally. After the barrier was constructed along with increased Border Patrols, that number decreased by 93.5% to 39,000 in 2015.

Also, in 2006, more than 122K people entered illegally in El Paso. In 2017, illegal crossings near El Paso dropped almost 75% to 25K after constructing a border wall.

Unfortunately, the current border is not entirely secure; what we have in place does not stop caravans of people from finding their way across our border illegally.

Walls Exist Throughout The World

Since World War II, 70 nations constructed border walls. Interestingly, 55 of those 70 walls were built after the Berlin Wall fell.

Some examples are:
  1. India-Bangladesh;
  2. Israel West Bank;
  3. Northern Ireland;
  4. Finland-Russia;
  5. France at Calais;
  6. Morocco-Western Sahara;
  7. Saudi Arabia-Iraq;
  8. Baghdad to separate Shiite and Sunni populations;
  9. Botswana-Zimbabwe;
  10. South Africa-Mozambique; and,
  11. Egypt-Gaza.

Three Excellent Reasons To Build The Wall
build the wall for these 3 reasons

  1. The border wall will save lives by creating a deterrent and minimizing the "pull factor." A minor or a family will be less likely to make the dangerous journey (many die on this journey, and somewhere near 80% of the women are raped along the way) from Central America to the U.S. border only to face a 30' barrier or Border Patrol. Additionally, when legitimate asylum seekers cross the border illegally, they are subject to arrest. The wall would "guide" them to seek entry through the established ports of entry and prevent them from being arrested and separated from their families.

  2. Although a wall is not a perfect solution to block illegal entry, a physical barrier would slow illegal crossings down. Additionally, there are almost 21 million acres of federally protected land along the southern border. Smugglers and traffickers drive all-terrain motor vehicles across this federally protected land, causing substantial damage to the environment.

  3. The wall would protect the property of legal U.S. citizens. Two Mexican border cities are among the most dangerous cities in the world, and the cartel members often cross over illegally to pillage the neighboring U.S. cities. They intend to steal what they want and take the items and vehicles back to Mexico.

Construction Cost Is NOT Problematic

According to the opponents, the cost to build "Trump's Wall" is estimated at $77,000M ($77B) to construct and $750M annually to maintain the wall. The opponents agree that the annual cost of illegal aliens is $43,000M ($43B)

Using these costs, the construction of the wall would increase the costs spent on illegals by $34,000M ($34B). However, once the wall is completed, the federal savings would be approximately $33,500M ($33.5B).

Undoubtedly, the overall cost of the wall is substantially less than the amount spent on illegals.

So how about it? Let's build the wall! It is best for all.

Real Estate License With A Criminal Record

Can you earn a real estate license with a criminal record

Applicants for a real estate license in California must meet the California Department of Real Estate (CalDRE) standards for eligibility. DOJ and FBI criminal background checks are performed on all applicants to ensure that the applicant can function as a real estate broker or sales agent.

A further investigation into CalDRE's criminal screening process is warranted to identify the illegal behavior that results in the application being denied and what conduct does not cause ineligibility for a real estate license.

Crimes That Bar Licensure In Real Estate

The disclosure of all prior convictions and pending criminal charges is required for all real estate license applicants.
Convictions include:
  • a guilty verdict by judge or jury;
  • a guilty plea;
  • a nolo contendere (no contest) plea, and
  • bail forfeiture within any court system (state, commonwealth, possession, or country).
To ensure that every applicant does not have a criminal record that conflicts with the duties of a licensed real estate professional, the CalDRE conducts a detailed background check against DOJ and FBI records via Live Scan Fingerprinting. [Cal Bus & Prof Code §10177(b)]

Crimes that bar licensure in real estate

The CalDRE lists the following convictions that commonly result in the application being denied:

  • assault with intent to commit rape;
  • bribing a public officer or employee;
  • burglary;
  • criminal conspiracy;
  • embezzlement;
  • extortion;
  • filing false police or fire reports;
  • forgery;
  • fraud;
  • grand and petty theft;
  • murder;
  • obtaining money by false pretense;
  • perjury;
  • sexually-related conduct affecting a non-consenting observer or participant;
  • possession of drugs for sale or transport;
  • soliciting a lewd act from a minor or non-consenting adult, and
  • tax evasion.

CalDRE's Review of Criminal Background and "Substantial Relationship"

Each conviction is carefully considered by the CalDRE before the decision is made to approve or deny the application.

A broad recommendation to deny an applicant occurs when the applicant:
  • has a felony or misdemeanor conviction substantially related to one's performance as a licensed real estate professional;
  • had a business/professional license against which a state or federal government agency took administrative action or
  • failed to disclose any criminal charges or disciplinary action against them.
Denial of an application based on a criminal record requires that the convictions or actions are substantially related to the fitness to practice as a real estate professional [Cal Bus & Prof Code §480].

A substantial relationship exists when criminal activity includes:
  • fraudulently taking or appropriating another person's funds or property;
  • counterfeiting, forging, or altering an instrument or making a false statement;
  • willfully attempting to gain financial benefit through nonpayment of government taxes, assessments, or levies;
  • bribery, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation;
  • sexual conduct affecting a non-consenting observer or participant;
  • willfully violating or failing to comply with laws controlling professional real estate licenses;
  • willfully engaging in business activity without obtaining a license or permit required to carry out the activity;
  • committing an unlawful act for financial or economic benefit or with the intent of harming another person or property;
  • willfully failing to comply with a court order;
  • conduct that demonstrates a repeated disregard for the law or
  • two or more convictions involving alcohol consumption or drug use when at least one of the convictions involves driving under the influence. [CalDRE Regulations §2910]
In summary, the screening process is to identify criminal activity demonstrating dishonest and unethical behavior that conflicts with the typical duties of a real estate agent or broker.

Rehabilitation efforts and the severity of each crime are considered by the CalDRE, such as:
  • payment of restitution to the injured party;
  • expungement of convictions;
  • expungement of sex offender registration;
  • enrollment in or the completion of an economic self-improve course(s);
  • the discharge of debts; and,
  • if two years have passed since the most recent criminal conviction. [CalDRE Regs §2911]
A pending charge or arrest cannot be the basis for the denial of an application. [Cal Bus & Prof Code §10177(b)]

my criminal record may prevent me from getting a job. what are my options?

Is There Anything I Can Do? I Have Changed.

Yes, there is something you can do. You can file for relief, commonly referred to as having your record expunged. If you have completed your sentence and stayed out of trouble, you may be a candidate for "expungement."

What Crimes Cannot Be Expunged?

While the majority of crimes can be expunged, there are a few that are not subject to relief from PC 1203.4.
  • PC286(c) - Sodomy through means of force, violence, or fear.
  • PC287(c) or of former section PC288a - Oral copulation with a minor under 14 years of age
  • PC288 - Lewd acts with a minor under 14 years of age
  • PC288.5 - Sexual abuse of a minor with whom you have recurring access
  • PC289(j) - Sexual penetration of a minor under 14 years of age and 10 years younger
  • PC311.1, PC311.2, PC311.3 - Child pornography
  • PC311.11 - Child pornography
  • Any misdemeanor falling within the provisions of VC42002.1 - Failure to stop and submit to inspection
  • Any felony conviction pursuant to subdivision (d) of Section 261.5 - Statutory Rape
  • Violations for which a defendant has served time in prison, excluding County-Prison eligible violations under the 2011 Realignment Act

A real estate application/license shall not be denied solely on:

  • a felony conviction for which a certificate of rehabilitation was issued;
  • a conviction that has been dismissed under Cal Pen Codes §1203.4, §1203.4a, or §1203.41
  • a misdemeanor upon completion of the criteria of rehabilitation developed by the board.

So, if you have taken any of the above steps since your conviction, you may have a chance at having your application approved even with your criminal history.  CalDRE RE Form 222: Applicant Eligibility Information

You may qualify! Get your criminal record expunged.

Will Delinquent Tax and Child Support Payments Result in a Denial?

The rejection of an applicant is required if the applicant:
  • has outstanding tax obligations to the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) or State Board of Equalization, over $100,000; or

Exceptions to Being Denied Based on Delinquency

If the applicant meets all other qualifications, except for being current with child support payments, the CalDRE may issue a valid license for 150 days. This allows the applicant to pay any back child support payments. To avoid license revocation, clearance from the Department of Child Support Services must be received by the CalDRE within 150 days. The applicant's cost for processing the temporary license is $95. [CalDRE Regs §2716.5]

If the applicant is denied only due to outstanding tax obligations, the CalDRE may issue a license valid for 90 days, within which the debt is to be satisfied. The CalDRE must receive confirmation from the FTB or BOE that the applicant is paid in full, or the license will be revoked.

Applicants are not entitled to a refund of application fees. [Cal Bus & Prof Code §494.5(g)(3)]

Even though delinquent tax or child support payments are not considered by the CalDRE to indicative of being unfit for licensure, these delinquencies cause an automatic block to application approval.

Noncitizenship and Undocumented Immigration

Since January 1, 2016, citizenship or immigration status is no longer used by the CalDRE as a basis to deny an application.

Illegal Aliens Commit More Crimes In Proportion to Legal Residents and Citizens

3% of the Population Commits 11% of the Crimes - Illegals Commit More Crimes In Proportion to Legal Residents and Citizens

The proportion of illegals sentenced in federal courts is 3.5 times more than the percentage of illegals living in the United States.

It seems that there is some confusion about this fact among those advocating for the rights of immigrants.

Immigrant rights advocates blasted the amendment as a thinly veiled attempt by Republicans to legitimize the Trump administration's continuous claims that undocumented immigrants are violent criminals. Multiple studies have shown that despite the Trump administration's protestations, immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than their United States-born counterparts. -Massoud Hayoun There's An Anti-Immigrant Amendment Tucked Into Dems Gun Control Bill

How Many Illegals Live In The United States of America?

illegal immigration must stop
In 2016, 10.7 million illegal aliens were living in the U.S. representing 3.3% of the total U.S. population. The number of illegals living in the U.S. has been declining, but for this critique, it favors my opponents to overestimate this number. So in the interest of fairness, I will risk slight error.

The Federal Sentencing Statistics compiled by the United States Sentencing Commission provide the truth about the disproportionate number of illegals sentenced in a federal court.

The Number of Sentences Issued By Federal Judges To Illegal Immigrants

During the fiscal year of 2017, the total number of federal sentences, excluding immigration crimes, was 45,954. U.S. Citizens were sentenced 37,478 (81.56%) times, and illegals were convicted 5,361 (11.67%) times. The data is shown in the table below.

Illegals are sentenced 3.5 times more than their proportion of the population

Conclusions

Yes, it is evident that those making up a small number of a population would be sentenced less than the majority. However, when you examine the data, in proportion to the number of people living in the U.S. illegals commit a much higher number of crimes. If the number of illegals sentenced was proportionately equal to or less than the amount living in the U.S., 1,516 (3.3%) not 5,361 (11.67%) of the 45,954 total sentences would be issued to illegals.

Proportionately, illegals are sentenced 3.5 times more than citizens.

There is no need for any studies on this topic as the data is collected every year as mandated by the Sentencing Reform Act provisions of the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984.

The Migrant Caravan: A Threat to The Citizens of The United States of America

President Trump's Assessment Was Accurate

Many of you think Trump is out of his mind and that we should welcome all illegal immigrants into our country. However, a nation without borders is... yeah when we cannot get past this truth, I stop listening to the anti-Trump dialogue. I have tried to engage in discussions with those with different views. The anti-Trump folks are often so loud and raucous that even when I do not want to listen, I am occasionally forced to hear their statements.

However, all U.S. citizens must understand that the Center for Immigration Studies shows that 21% of those convicted of crimes other than immigration between 2011 and 2016 were non-citizens. Non-citizens make up 8% of the U.S. adult population. Illegals are disproportionately represented in the penal system at 21% or 2.5 times more than their contribution to the population.

It is interesting to me that many folks within the anti-Trump group claim to be tolerant. However, it seems that the only differing views tolerated are those with the same or similar foundation and come from other anti-Trump people. It is ignorant for one to remain steadfast in their belief that every word that comes out of Trump's mouth is a lie. It seems ridiculous to immediately disregard any idea presented by President Trump merely because the idea came out of his mouth. This opposition based on pure emotion and not fact must seem like a logical plan for those who have lost the ability to engage with others using facts. Even more disgusting is the behavior of Democrats elected to the federal government.

However, I believe that Trump was accurate when he said there is a criminal element in the caravans allegedly heading for our southern border.

I believe the President was accurate when he mentioned the criminal element within the caravan, as does at least one person traveling with that caravan. Even the CBC media outlet also agrees. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation - neither a right-wing nor a typical left-leaning U.S. media outlet - is Canadian. Yes, from Canada, that same country that the Democrats were so supportive of when Trump spoke directly and candidly to Justin Trudeau in the fall of 2018.

The Migrant Caravan Is Not Just Women And Children

There are more than 4,000 people registered with the caravan. Most have refused the work visas and such offered by the Mexican government. Incredibly, they still dare to demand that the Mexican people/government provide them with transportation to the U.S. border.

Does this even make sense to you? Unless one is ridiculous, most would agree that demanding something from a country you are passing through is a pretty gutsy move. Perhaps even what some would classify as self-entitled.

Invaders Enter A Country Without Considering The Laws of The Land

The liberal left somehow finds a way to dismiss and laugh at the label of "invader" rather than "illegal immigrant." If you consider yourself a member of the liberal left, let me briefly explore this notion from an opposing view to yours; remember, you are the tolerant one, and you welcome differing opinions.

Suppose a group of people cross into a foreign, new country and do not work diligently to assimilate and live as the current citizens of that new country. In that case, they will weaken the new country's traditions and culture.

If the same folks require medical treatment, they will cause a longer delay in emergency rooms, undermine the current citizens' access to medical treatment, and weaken the overall health of the individuals affected.

Also, if the illegals are school-aged, they will take a seat in the public school system and do it by surprise, which will overcrowd schools, exacerbate language barriers, increase the already incredibly high number of responsibilities given to classroom teachers, and weaken the educational system.

Do you not think that an attacking entity would be wise to weaken a nation's culture, decrease individual access to health care, and overburden the educational system?

These specific attacks help divide a nation's unified strength into smaller factions and make it easier to overtake. I will pretend that everyone agrees. Yes, that would be a wise and brilliant way to attack without the attention of typical warring behavior.

Is it not accurate to call those people invaders, if that is correct? Again, yes is the rational answer.

The Problem With The Term Illegal Immigrant

Let's talk about the term illegal immigrant - I meant oxymoron. Immigrants enter a country legally, correct? How can one be an "illegal person that entered a country legally?" Yep, that is not possible.

Save me your emotional responses that point to the settlers of our country because if you go there, I will have to fill you in on this fact: Indigenous people called those settlers INVADERS and waged war against them. They lost, and the settlers won and developed the country, turning it into the place you call home.

Unless you are suffering from Catholic Guilt or something similar, why would you point to the conflicts between the indigenous people of North America and Western European settlers as a reason for opening the borders?

Do you want to be overrun and forced into a culture and set of beliefs that are not the ones we have been working on for centuries?

Do you believe Western European settlers from centuries ago are similar to those entering our country illegally today? Why suffer the tragic fate of being conquered without putting up some formidable resistance? Especially at the border, where this resistance is most appropriate.

What Is Your Solution?

So what should the plan be? Do you still believe we should let anyone enter our country without penalty for not abiding by our nation's laws?

I welcome fact-based replies, not extraordinarily weak ones. I would appreciate any plans that include a plausible solution to the immigration problem we are enduring. Additionally, suggestions might stop those who continue to violate the federal laws of the U.S. from gaining illegal entry into our country. Even the most pie-in-the-sky suggestions would be interesting to read and ponder.

Even though I support the plan to increase security along the southwestern border, I want to expose and present alternative strategies that may be more effective.

The best idea is one that has yet to be implemented and tried. Nothing will change if we do not have fact-based conversations about the current policies and procedures about illegal immigration.
